Law- basic law, legal terminology and definitions;  purpose and function of law; Federal and State Courts; bill of rights; amendments; Code of VA 6VAC20-250; bail bonding law; laws of arrest; landmark cases; VA cases; limitations and liabilities; right to arrest; search and seizure; extradition act; surety and property bondsman release from legal obligation - 12 Hours.

Fugitive Recovery Skills- Legal procedures; criminal statutes; use of recovery agents; Responsibilities when fugitive is in bondsman custody; recovery procedures; Investigation techniques, surveillance, court research, interviewing skip tracing, agent survival- 24 Hours.

Documentations- required by courts; required by DCJS; record keeping; reporting and retaining records- 2 Hours.
